Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us at BINA Farm Center! We have numerous volunteer opportunities at our Equestrian and Community Center. Whether you enjoy being around horses, or prefer to give tours or teach our older teens or young adults how to sell retail in our “shop”, there is something for everyone. Volunteers are asked to commit to an entire session (10-14 weeks) and for the same day and time each week for their regular shift. If someone wants to do additional hours, those can be on a flexible schedule. All volunteers attend a two orientation in which they will receive a general orientation about BINA, then get trained in the area they want to begin volunteering for. Volunteers can become trained in numerous areas after they begin. Here are some of the opportunities we have available for volunteers:
Barn chores - support our barn team as we clean stalls and paddocks, fill water buckets, feed grain and hay, and prepare for the program day ahead.
Side Walker - walk and jog alongside our participants as they ride during their lesson or therapy session.
Horse Groom - gather tack and ready the horse, so they can be brushed and ready for the lesson or therapy session ahead.
Horse Leader - lead the horse during a lesson or therapy session, so the participant can focus on learning, gaining new skills, and developing independence.
Reception Ambassadors- meet and greet our participants, their families and guests. Use your smiling face and joyful personality to bring a welcoming experience to anyone who comes to our center.
Tour Guides- provide tours of both the Equestrian and Community Center and provide some FAQ’s along the way. We will train and provide the information.
Mort & Shasta’s - volunteer in our “shop” where we help teach older teens and young adults about retail. We sell BINA merchandise, equestrian gear, educational toys and snacks.
Agricultural Program – prepare the soil, plant seeds, and provide ongoing care for seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers to be enjoyed by our participants, horses and community members.
Administrative, Development, PR/Marketing or Fundraising - use your experience to help further our mission.
Gala Committee – do you enjoy engaging with others? Help with the planning, auction item solicitation, and building attendance for our annual black-tie gala, Horsing Around at the Mandarin.
Facility Maintenance – assist with maintenance, carpentry, and landscaping needs of our facilities and property.
Please note that all volunteers must be at least fourteen years old.
